Trader Joe’s opened a new store this past August — it’s right there, just off the Taconic — at exit 17a (Route 202), in Yorktown Heights. It’s across a parking lot from a Lowe’s Hardware, and next to a large Starbucks. Across Route 22 is a gas station.

According to Google Maps, the TJ’s is only 16 miles south of the lake, as the car drives.
